Since their early days, the Third Orders of Sanit Francis dedicated themselves to mercy and charity, creating institutions to provide assistance to the ill, the elderly and the children. This was the tradition and the spirit that led the Brotherhood of Jesus to build a hospital for its members in the 18th century. This situation continued throughout the 19th century. But in the 20th century, it became a surgical clinic open to all types of patients.
